Hello! Thank you for visiting Kitchen Diaries!

I am Selina Martins and I am the primary writer for this blog.  I love anything to do with food, drinks, and reality television.  I completed my undergrad with a double major in Communications and Art History at the University of Toronto in 2018.  Currently, you will find me at Seneca College furthering my studies in a Post Grad Degree in Corporate Public Relations.  From 2012 to present, I have been working at Fabricland Head Office in many departments such as sales, inventory management, and customer service.  

My love for food began at a very young age, and stems from my parents always bringing me along when it came to dinner outings.  I put all the blame on them when it comes to my foodie lifestyle.  I remember at the age of 4 I was dining at Chiado, a fine dining Portuguese Restaurant, where the head chef would bring out my specialty order – a fried egg with french fries stacked like it was a game of Jenga.  From there forward, fries that aren’t arranged to perfection and double blanched will never compare.  

This blog lets me to be creative, and inspire others to also try new things in their kitchen.  I like to keep things easy as I am not a Master Chef…yet.  This blog will emulate a DIY project, recreating my own at home version of certain restaurant food and drink dishes that I could not live without.  My brand archetype for this blog would be an explorer, helping people express their individuality by creating new and exciting experiences through cooking.  

Come along on my journey where I try mastering certain dishes and beverages from famous restaurants all in the comfort of my apartment kitchen.
